Signing Your Pyrography Art
1 – Burn It!
When signing your pyrography art, the obvious option is to sign it with a wood burning pen. This could be your artist’s signature or business name and is a nice way to permanently put your signature on the wood slice.
2- Sign With Ink

If you aren’t great with lettering with your wood burner, you can sign your wood burned art with an archival pen. I like to use Micron Pens because they are archival, come in many different tip sizes, and are nice to have around.
3- Use A Stamp

I started stamping my wood burning art last year after I purchased some stamps for my business. It’s an interesting way to sign a wood slice though it definitely won’t work for all woods. Test this method on a scrap piece of wood first!
4- Use A Sticker
Placing a sticker on the back of your art is a great way to include your logo, website, and signature all in one! It’s a fool-proof way to sign your pyrography art as you don’t have to worry about messing up with signing it.
5- Branding Iron
Signing your wood burning work with a branding iron is the same as burning your signature with a wood burning pen, but the branding iron does the work for you. There are many online retailers where you can purchase a branding iron with your logo or signature. It’s a very professional way of signing your work.
How I Sign My Wood Burnings

I have signed my pyro art many different ways. I’ve used my wood burner to burn my signature, I’ve used custom logo stickers and a stamp, and I have signed with ink. The only one I haven’t done that I mentioned above is use a branding iron, though I have one on my to-purchase list.
Is there a right way to sign your wood burned art? No. Do what feels right to you.
There’s no need to spend a lot of money or time if that isn’t up your alley. Some people don’t sign their work at all. I think it’s a nice touch and if you sell your wood burning art, I 100% recommend signing it.
