Are you a creative business owner? If so, it’s now time to start prepping for the holiday shopping season!

As small business owners, we always have to think ahead, and thankfully this year, I am!

Usually, I start thinking about creating holiday products just before the holidays, and it’s always way too late. But this year I’m getting ahead and it feels so good.

Another plus of listing holiday products now is that there will be time for the products to gain traction from the keywords you use. For example, if a holiday greeting card you posted now had the keyword “handmade Christmas card”, when someone searches that keyword a few months from now, your product has more of a chance of showing up because it’s been up for a while.

People also shop for holiday products all year long, so getting new products up sooner rather than later is always better.

I’m also participating in Faire Market in a few weeks so I want to make sure my seasonal products are up because retailers are shopping for holiday products now to prepare their stores.

So far I’ve made several new fall greeting cards and holiday greeting cards, plus a new seasonal art print (more to come!!).

It’s NEVER too early to start prepping for the holidays in business. If your art business doesn’t have any seasonal products, then you won’t have to worry too much.

I create greeting cards, so seasonal cards are a must. Also, holiday items are big money-makers if you can create a great product that sells. Christmas is absolutely huge on Etsy, and people are always looking for cards and gifts to give.

So let this little post be a PSA to anyone who owns an art business, start thinking about your plan for the holidays!

Let me know how you’re prepping your business for the holidays this year in the comments below. Or ask me a question, I’m always here to help!
