Today I want to talk about wood burning art prints.

As a wood burning artist, time is money. Most times as an artist, it’s hard to get back all the time and money you put into your work.

It takes me so many hours to create wood burning art, and if I charged what I wish I could get for it, I may never get sales. Once your wood burned creation is sold, it’s gone forever and all your time is out the door for one price.

Well, how can we make more money as wood burning artists? Selling wood burning art prints!

Just as other artists who create art prints of their work, so can wood burning artists!

I have sold art prints of my work for years and I just added pyrography art prints to my shop recently. I’m kicking myself for not doing this earlier! Now, customers can enjoy my wood burning art always (without having to buy the one expensive original available).

It’s not easy making a living as an artist. Wood burning artists can utilize art prints to make money off designs they created years ago.

So many people had wanted to buy my original wood burned art before, but couldn’t afford the price, or didn’t grab it before it sold. Now, everyone can enjoy my work as prints are super affordable and convenient.

How to make prints of your wood burning art

1- Take a high-quality photograph or scan of your wood burning

2- Upload on the computer and make adjustments as needed

3- Find a printing company or do a high-quality print on your own printer

You don’t have to physically have the prints to sell them in your online shop. There are a lot of drop ship printing companies available to work with online or sites like Redbubble where you just upload the image and they do the printing for you. Always do what works for you and your business and research a lot.

It is helpful to have editing and print knowledge when creating art prints. I have a graphic design degree so I edit all my prints in Photoshop. There are so many tutorials out there, so research and experiment until you feel comfortable if you’re a beginner.

Stickers

Make stickers of your wood burned art! Stickers are so popular and are another great way to make more money as a wood burning artist. I just added stickers to my website and am selling a variety of designs, along with some wood burned art stickers!

Notebooks

Same concept as art prints! How cool would it be if your wood burned creation was the main cover of a notebook?

Greeting Cards

I love note cards and have a whole collection of greeting cards for sale on my site. Honestly, cards are one of my best sellers for my small business. Making greeting cards with your wood burned art on them is a great idea!

Calendars

Make a yearly calendar with pictures of your wood burned creations. They can all be cohesive with the same theme or just a collection of your work.

+ Anything else your work can be printed on!

Really the possibilities are endless. Once you have a high-quality scan or photograph of your work, you can use it for just about anything.
