I admit I have way too many Tarot and Oracle decks. Honestly, I haven’t even counted because I don’t want to know how many I have. There are some I really like and some that are okay, but I have finally found my all-time favorite deck, the Wizard of Oz Tarot Deck.

I have been a HUGE fan of the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie since I was a little girl. The DVD would basically be playing every day in my home. I couldn’t get enough!
Years following I started to collect Wizard of Oz items and then became a fan of Wicked after I saw the Broadway play in NYC in 2014. So my love for Oz has spanned well over 20 years now.

Since I started collecting Tarot decks about 6/7 years ago, I’ve always been on the hunt for a Wizard of Oz deck. I’ve collected some indie ones but nothing stole my heart. UNTIL NOW!

Wizard Of Oz Tarot Deck Review
A new officially licensed Wizard of Oz Tarot Deck just came out! Hip hip hooray!
It was written by Erica Davis and illustrated by Davide Ortu. I saw this deck listed for pre-order on Amazon in 2024 and had been stalking the release date for a long time.
Right off the bat, I’m telling you this deck is a MUST for fans. Even if you aren’t into Tarot cards, you’ll quickly fall in love with the illustrations, which are based on the 1939 classic movie. It’s a great collector’s item.

I think I need to buy another copy. One to display on a shelf and one to use. I just love them that much!
The illustrations are just so whimsical and stunning. I love the use of sepia and color throughout the deck to depict being in Kansas and Oz just like the movie does.
If you want to see every card in the deck, check out my flip-through video:
I also really enjoy the border of the cards. It just ties everything together so well.

The Guidebook

The color guidebook and is a beautiful addition to the deck. There are some pretty cool Oz spread ideas in the back of the book.
The traditional suits were changed to be Oz-themed, which is perfect. Instead of wands, cups, swords, and pentacles, the suits are:
- Brooms (wands)
- Cans (cups)
- Spears (swords)
- Bricks (pentacles)
My Favorite Card

My favorite card in the Wizard of Oz Tarot is the world card.
The iconic image of Dorothy entering Oz with the sepia and color combo is perfect. That scene in the movie always was so magical to me, like stepping into an exciting dream, and that card makes me feel the same way.

Final Thoughts
This deck really went all out. And I’m so glad it did. Between the stunning color guidebook, to the illustrations and details in each card, I 10000% recommend this deck to anyone interested in Oz or Tarot.
I don’t think I ever need to buy another deck again because this one just captured my heart. I’m going to end this post now because I think I’ll just keep saying how much I love it over and over haha.
Thank you to the creators of this deck for bringing it to existence. You made this Oz fan (and I’m sure many others) very happy!
Thanks so much for reading! 🙂
