Everyone is an artist. You’re an artist even if you don’t think you are one or call yourself one.
When you hear the word “artist,” you may think of Da Vinci, Van Gogh, a painter in a studio, or a famous musician, but it is much larger than that. Art is truly everything.
Whether you realize it or not, you create art every single day. Trust me, you really do!
In this blog post, I list several ways you probably create art daily without it even crossing your mind. Let’s get into it. 🙂

Why Everyone Is An Artist

Art takes many forms. From the way you decorate your home, style your outfits, and more, it’s all art. Cooking, handwriting, hairstyles, gardening, it’s endless!

Self-Expression
Just self-expression alone is art. The way you write in your journal, how you choose your words in conversation, and even the way you laugh—these are all personal expressions of the unique person you are.
I’ll say it again, everything is art!
Art Is About Feeling
Many people think they can’t be an artist because they’re “not good at it.” This pains me so much. When I was an art teacher, it was so sad seeing kids grow up and not be excited about art anymore because they thought they weren’t good at it.
Art isn’t about being the best or painting realistically (which so many are convinced is the only way you can be an artist). Art is about feeling something. A simple sketch, a messy painting, or organizing a bookshelf. It’s how it makes you feel during the process, not necessarily the end result.
Art In Celebrations
Most people decorate for holidays. It’s art! Whether it’s setting the table for a holiday, wrapping a gift, or creating a birthday card, these everyday moments we do yearly turn into artistic experiences.
The way you decorate your Christmas tree or carve your pumpkins is art. Catching on yet? 🙂
Hidden Creativity In Everyday Life
I’ve had this conversation many times in my life trying to convince others that everyone is an artist. Some people are really stuck on the theory that you have to be someone who paints realism to be considered a real artist. It’s not true. We all create art in our own way.
