My toddler was gifted a Toniebox for Christmas 2025 (thanks, Mom), and I wish we had gotten one sooner!
Out of all the toys he has (which is a lot), this is the one he plays with every day. And he doesn’t get sick of it!
I understand the hype now! Not only does he love it, but I do as well.
What is the Toniebox?
To put it simply, it’s a kid-friendly audio player. There are no screens or complicated buttons. You place little character figurines called Tonies on top of the box, and they play stories, songs, or educational content. It’s magical!
Why it’s great
Gosh, there are many reasons it’s great, which is why I’m writing this Toniebox review blog post! Haha, but in all seriousness, it’s amazing. Here are a few reasons:
It’s easy for kids to use independently
The Toniebox is recommended for ages 3+, but my 2-year-old figured it out quickly. You place a Tonie on top, and a song/story starts. When you take it off, the song/story stops. Tap the sides, and you can skip songs. The ears control the volume. Easy!
No screens
We limit screens in our household, and the Toniebox helps with that so much. It’s entertaining and can easily replace screen time.

Collecting Tonies is fun
I love buying new Tonies for my son. Collecting them is fun! It can get expensive, and then there is the issue of storing them, which is the only con in my opinion. I’ll share the display stand I purchased down a little further in this post!
It’s durable
This toy has been through the wringer and back, and it has held up perfectly! I’m sure they designed it with this in mind, but our Toniebox gets slapped every day and is as good as new. 🙂
I got this magnetic stand to display all of our Tonies. I love it because my toddler can easily see the characters and grab them as he wants. The Toniebox sits on the right side, and the charger slides underneath it so it can charge while sitting on the stand. Highly recommend! Check out the magnetic stand here.
So overall, I would 100% recommend a Toniebox to all parents. If you’re looking to replace screen time, this is a great option.
