How To Utilize A New Moon As An Artist & Creative

Have you ever wondered what we can do during a new moon?

New moons are great for new beginnings, and artists can use the energy to their advantage.

As a lifelong moon lover, I have learned how to use it to help achieve things in my life. Though I am learning more about the powers of the moon every day and have much to learn, I can say with confidence that the moon is truly magical.

What is a new moon?

A new moon is the start of the lunar cycle or the first lunar phase.

You cannot see it in the sky as it is completely dark. The moon’s energy is still 100% there even if it’s not visible to your eye.

So what does a new moon mean and what can we do with it?

It simply represents new beginnings or a new cycle. I like to use this phase to get my ideas and intentions in place.

How can artists use the energy of the new moon to achieve what they want?

Anyone can use the new moon to their advantage to manifest their desired life and goals, but as an artist, I have realized how amazing the new moon is for us creative people.

Artists and creative people have lots of ideas, it’s natural. You constantly think of new projects, songs, or paintings you want to create. It’s a great time to manifest these projects and ideas into existence.

You can do so by simply writing them down and collecting your thoughts.

It is said that the best time to start a new project is under the new moon.

New moons are a great time to meditate and get fresh creative ideas flowing. A new cycle, a new period of life, it’s yours to do what you wish with it.

Sit outside with a journal and just write whatever comes to your mind. Whether that be new project ideas, lyrics, or whatever you need to get out. Just write!

What to do during a new moon:

Start new projects
Write down the goals you’d like to accomplish & by when
Think of business names + business ideas
Meditate to get fresh new creative ideas
Create a vision board for your life or business
Reflect on past work to see what has worked for you, what has not, & what you need to change going forward
Sit outside under the darkness of the new moon and stargaze

I write down in my journal ideas I want to review this cycle, projects I want to start, and things I need to work on. Think of the new moon as a monthly work meeting where you reflect on the past month and what went great and what didn’t work.

Everyone will have a different practice or something that works specifically for them.

New moons are a blank slate, a new chapter in our stories. Anything is possible, and we have the power to change our lives.
