Green Artist Monthly Recap: August 2023

I’m going to do a new series where I do a monthly recap every month here on my blog.

I love journaling and I like the idea of having a monthly journal that I can look back on. My idea is to share bits of my life from the month, new art I’ve made, business successes, goals, failures (it happens!), and whatever else comes up.

Life Lately

August flew by! But honestly, so has this whole year. It’s a bit scary but I’m trying to take it day by day.

This month also had me entering my 8th month of pregnancy, so it’s been interesting juggling work, planning for his arrival, and trying to get through every day lol. Everything definitely hurts at this point!

August Highlights

I had my baby shower this month and it was absolutely beautiful. My husband made an adorable fruit baby display tray and it was the cutest thing ever! Isn’t he talented?!

My sunflowers have been blooming for weeks now and I don’t want it to ever end! But I also look forward to pumpkin season after sunflower season. πŸ™‚

This month also had a lot of rain but our yard looks amazing. No dry and dead grass this summer!

August Accomplishments

My blog has been growing A LOT. Stats are going up and I’m feeling great about it. Blogging is hard work, and I will 100% not sugarcoat that. It’s not for everyone.

You have to be patient to start seeing some action, and I’m feeling really proud that I haven’t given up on here because I’m really starting to see results. I love blogging!

My Etsy shop has also been picking up a bit and I’m hoping for a big boost in sales for the upcoming holiday season. This year is my first year as a full-time artist/blogger so every single sale counts! Being self-employed is my lifelong dream so I’m giving it my all.

Best Things I’ve Purchased

Okay so I actually purchased these items in late July, but I have just been able to use them fully in August so we’ll just say I purchased them in August lol. I LOVE the Mungyo Gallery Oil Pastels and the Caran D’ache water-soluble pastels. I’m using them every day!

I wrote some detailed reviews on them if you’re interested in reading and seeing more:

Favorite Art I’ve Created

I think my favorite piece of art I created this month is my sunflower moon wood burned and painted sign. It just spoke to me so much combining my love for the moon and sunflowers. Always create what you love!

September Goals

august 2023 monthly recap

I have a lot to accomplish in the next month. One thing I am going to try to create/finish is a wood burning class. It was a 2023 goal to publish a class and I really want to be able to cross it off the list! Does anyone else love crossing things off of a list?

I’m looking to publish my first classes on Skillshare. Wish me lots of luck and motivation!

Goodbye August!

Well, that about covers it! Looking forward to writing future monthly recaps and to seeing what the future holds. πŸ™‚

I’ll see you in my next post,

-Amanda πŸ’š
