In this post, I go over some of my favorite wood surfaces you can buy on Amazon and why they’re great for wood burning artists.
Though there are several kinds of wood you can burn on, my top pick would have to be basswood. It’s considered a soft wood (so it’s easy to burn) and overall is very easy to work with. You can find me using basswood for 99% of my projects.

These round rustic wood slabs are my go-to for the majority of my wood burning projects. For beginners especially, I think these are the best wood surfaces to start with. The round shape makes it unique and the possibilities are endless.
These wood coasters are excellent to create as cute wood burned coasters, ornaments, wedding table numbers, and so much more.
