February has always been a weird month for me. The year is not so new anymore but you’re still getting over the holidays and are itching for spring at the same time. Where I live, there is usually a bunch of snow in February. I remember always getting a snow day in school around Valentine’s Day.
This month is over and I’m still wondering how time goes by so fast. I think I say that in all my monthly recap posts though! 🙂

February Highlights
In February, I decided to try an idea I’ve had for a while, which is to feature other artists on my blog. My goal of this is to inspire others by highlighting artists’ stories and artwork. If interested in possibly being featured, check out this post to apply!
I gained a lot of confidence this month. I am very hard on myself and always have been, but something just clicked for me this month.
When it comes to creating art and making products to sell, I either think it’s not good enough or it’ll never sell. For example, I made this artist birthday card figuring it would NEVER sell since it’s so specific, but it’s selling almost every single day now.

I just simply realized I can create what I want and not doubt myself. Now I feel confident in making whatever I feel like making and knowing someone out there will like it enough to purchase it! And if it doesn’t sell, it doesn’t. That’s okay too!
It’s just refreshing to have a bit more confidence in creating what I actually want to create vs what I think I should be creating to sell. When you’re a full-time artist and this job helps put bread on the table, there is definitely pressure. But I truly work better when I can be myself.
Art I’ve Created
I got to play with my new watercolors this month and create some paintings.
There was this scrap of paper on my desk and I randomly decided to paint it and it turned into a mini landscape. Painting this made me happy and feel refreshed. Often times I don’t play around much and only create to work, but I think I need to play more often and just RELAX!

In honor of the solar eclipse coming up on April 8th, I made a pretty eclipse watercolor illustration that I turned into a card. I’m hoping I can make some more solar eclipse stuff before April!
Where I live the solar eclipse will be completely visible, and tons of tourists are expected to be visiting. I’m hoping we get a good view of it! If you’re new around here, I love the moon and all things related.
Check out my solar eclipse greeting card here!
Things I’m Loving

I recently got this Art Oracle Deck and it’s super cool. As an artist who loves art history and oracle cards, these were calling my name when I saw them on Amazon. I wrote a review of them in this blog post here.
Another night when I was scrolling Amazon, I found this ADORABLE fish tank toy that attaches to a crib. It reminded me of a fish tank light I had as a kid, so I grabbed it and my baby loves it. It’s so cute and I highly recommend it to all fellow parents!

Goodbye February 2024, Hello March!
March is always a cool month because there is green everywhere because of St. Patrick’s Day, so I always appreciate that as green is my favorite color. 🙂

Thanks for reading and being here, and see you in my next monthly recap post!
