The month of May had me questioning all sorts of things.
I went through a period of contemplating deleting all my social media, and just having my websites. Social media stresses me out, and I BARELY share anything on there to begin with because I don’t have much extra time to dedicate to it.
As a business owner, I feel pressure to be active on social media and create content to reach more people. It’s semi-depressing spending so much time on reels or videos for no one to see them. Engagement is so down on Instagram for me so I basically say what’s the point every time I try.

Since I barely share anything, I feel like anyone following me has no idea what I do. I’ve gone through many changes throughout the years, as my Instagram account was purely just about mostly wood burning art when I started.
I do SO much that I have to remind myself of half the things I do. It leads me to wonder what I should even share on social media since my business is semi-broad.
If someone asks me what I do for a living, I freeze! If I answer truthfully, they’ll just look at me like I have 5 heads.
I guess to sum myself up: I’m an artist who sells her art online on many different platforms but I also have an art/lifestyle blog where I write about many topics and post art tutorials and everything art related and I don’t just focus on one medium, I do watercolors, mixed media art, wood burning, digital, photography, and more. Something like that. 🙂
I still don’t know what I’m going to do. Between fulfilling orders and trying to keep up with my blog, there isn’t much time left to worry about it. It’s there when I want to use it I suppose.
May Highlights
On May 10th the northern lights were visible in our backyard! It was so surreal to witness. I also couldn’t believe my phone captured these awesome images.

In May, my sunflowers got planted! Every year, I plant many different types of sunflowers and have many come up from the previous season. I call myself a sunflower queen and am OBSESSED. We also planted our veggies and herbs in our garden beds. Love this time of year!

I’ll share my flowers in upcoming posts! P.S., if you love sunflowers too, make sure to check out my sunflower gift guide. 🙂
Art I’ve Created
This month I was playing around with my watercolors. Creating abstract watercolor landscapes makes me so happy. Just the freedom and simplicity of it is soothing for the soul.

I’ve been doing abstract landscapes for years and I’m slowly finding my style. Hoping to write some posts about the process soon.

I recently published a post about paint pouring on rocks, and I was able to make a bunch of rock art this month!

I had some paint pouring medium to use up and a bunch of rocks waiting to be painted, so I set aside time to make some pretty rocks. I’m working on sealing them now and plan to sell them on my website.
Even though I love creating these, I’m not going to make more until I have a bigger workspace to work in someday. This process is super messy!
Hello June!
June is my birth month and this year brings a new decade for me, one I’ve been dreading but I feel this new decade will be some of the best years to come.
