In this post, I wanted to share how we’re organizing our garden seeds from now on!
I recently purchased photo storage boxes to organize all our printed photos that desperately need to be organized. Once my husband saw the storage boxes he said “Those would be good as seed organizers” and here we are!

Turns out many people use photo storage boxes as seed storage because it’s an awesome way to organize them!

Organizing Garden Seeds With A Photo Storage Box

I’m obsessed with organizing so this project of organizing our seed packets made my heart sing.
Before purchasing the photo boxes, my husband used an old binder and random boxes to store seeds. This resulted in seeds being thrown everywhere with no rhyme or reason. We discovered we had many old packets and honestly had no idea what we had.
This method of storing seeds helps you see exactly what you have making it easy to grab whatever you are looking for.

In the photo boxes, we put the oldest seeds on top to make sure we use those first.
You can use small white labels and write on them to label the boxes or use an electric label maker. I used a label maker to label our seed storage boxes!
I personally think this is one of the best methods of storing seeds if you have a hefty collection. We discovered many seed packets from 7+ years ago we didn’t even know we had!
Seed Storage Containers
We’re getting so excited for this garden season and are definitely going into it more organized!

We still have more to organize, so we are working on another box for seeds! That one will have watermelon, corn, and more.
I’ve already ordered another pack of the photo storage boxes, in hopes those actually end up being photo storage. 🙂
These boxes are so easy to store too and don’t take up a lot of space. It’s all a win in my book!
In our yard, we use handmade garden beds, these garden beds with legs for our deck, and I have several sunflower patches and flower gardens. We use a lot of seeds every year for sure.
If you are short on space or want a garden on your deck or patio, I highly recommend these raised garden beds! We recently purchased two and love them. 🙂
How do you organize your garden seed collection? Let me know in the comment section below! 🙂
Thanks so much for reading!
